Lightweight, Waterproof Boot
Crafted with a supple full-grain waterproof leather upper, this KEEN
(Portland, OR) boot features a KEEN.Dry waterproof breathable membrane
and hydrophobic/hydrophilic 2-zone comfort lining that allows moisture
out but never in, keeping feet dry and comfortable in the wettest conditions, says the company. Part of the KEEN.Welt collection, the Milwaukee
WP features patent-pending construction that blends the flexibility of a
welted product with the durability of a rubber outsole and tow-bumper
while reducing the chance of outsole delamination over the life of the boot.
The Milwaukee WP also features oil-and slip-resistant non-marking rubber
outsole and patent-pending asymmetrical
steel toes delivering lightweight protection to a boot built to work.

on Sheet Metal
Thanks to the new integrated flattening
concept by TRUMPF (Farmington, CT), it
is possible to punch a large number of
holes in thin sheet metal without distorting the panel. In the standard punching
process, the punch draws material into
the hole as it penetrates the sheet, creating compressive stress. As the punch is
withdrawn, tensile stress is produced.
These forces can cause deformation in
the material, especially when processing
low-gauge sheet metal with many holes.
With integrated flattening, opposing
stresses are introduced to keep the sheet
metal panels flat, thereby eliminating the
additional step to even out the material.
The function is available on the TruPunch
5000 punching machine and the TruMatic
7000 punch laser combination machine.
