Homer City Automation (HCA, Homer City, PA) has
announced the introduction of Champion Drives®, a new
line of electromagnetic linear drives designed to feed
bulk material to manufacturing, packaging, blending,
and weighing applications. Key features include:
• The open style design. This design allows for easy
access to the springs and coil, which reduces
installation time and allows for easy cleaning.
• An optional stainless steel drive, with a nickel-plated coil and armature, which is unique to the market and offers an increased level of corrosion resistance, for applications in harsher environments.
• A powerful electromagnetic coil, which enables
the drives to handle 4 times the trough weight in
material, and maintain stable feed rates under variable head load and voltage fluctuations. The drives
can achieve feed rates up to 75 feet per minute and
strokes up to .090”.
• Homer City Automation also has full sheet metal
design and fabrication capabilities. Customers can
select from a number of standard troughs, or can
work with HCA’s team to design a custom trough
to meet their specific needs.
